1-Ton Forklift: Specifications and Applications

A 1-ton forklift is classified as light-duty material handling equipment. Its core performance focuses on flexible handling and light-load operations, making it suitable for goods transfer in scenarios such as small and medium-sized warehouses and workshops.

1-Ton Forklift

1. Core Load-Bearing Capacity

  • The rated load capacity is 1,000 kg, which is the core design indicator. Strict adherence to this limit is required during actual use to prevent structural damage or safety accidents caused by overloading.
  • The load center distance is typically 500 mm (i.e., the center of gravity of the goods must be within 500 mm from the front end of the forklift’s forks). Exceeding this range will reduce the actual load-bearing capacity, which requires special attention.

2. Operational Efficiency Performance

  • Lifting height: The lifting height of a standard mast is mostly 3 meters. A three-stage mast with a height of 4-5 meters can be optionally installed according to needs to meet the requirement of picking and placing goods on multi-layer shelves.
  • Travel speed: The maximum speed is approximately 10-15 km/h when unloaded and 8-12 km/h when fully loaded. The moderate speed balances efficiency and safety.
  • Turning radius: It is relatively small, usually between 1.8-2.5 meters, making the forklift suitable for flexible steering in narrow aisles (e.g., aisles 2.5-3 meters wide).

3. Applicable Scenarios

  • It is mainly used for handling light goods, such as cartons, small pallets, and spare parts. Common application sites include e-commerce warehouses, food processing plants, and small manufacturing workshops.
  • It is more suitable for indoor use or flat outdoor areas. Use on rough roads or in heavy-duty working conditions (e.g., handling steel or stone) is not recommended, as it may accelerate equipment wear.

4. Basic Safety Performance

  • It is standard-equipped with service brakes, parking brakes, and lateral stability devices. Some models are fitted with overhead guards to protect operators from the risk of falling goods from above.
  • Some electric 1-ton forklifts are equipped with low-battery alarms and overload protection functions to further enhance operational safety. However, regular inspections of the brake and hydraulic systems are required.
