I. Uneven Ground (Potholes, Protrusions, Misaligned Joints)
Driving Operations
- Reduce the speed to below 2km/h. Strictly prohibit sudden acceleration, sudden braking, and sharp turns. Adopt the mode of "uniform slow driving and small-angle steering" to avoid sudden changes in the center of gravity caused by wheels rolling over protrusions or getting stuck in potholes.
- Prioritize driving on flat paths. If detouring is impossible, predict in advance and slowly roll over the edges of joints or potholes to prevent goods from shaking due to forklift bouncing.
Load Control
- Strictly control the lifting height within 10cm from the ground. It is forbidden to drive with goods lifted at high altitude.
- When handling long or eccentrically loaded goods, additional reinforcement (such as fixing with straps) shall be applied, and the rated load shall be reduced by 20%-30% to avoid the aggravation of center-of-gravity deviation.
Emergency Handling
If goods shake due to severe jolting during driving, stop immediately, slowly lower the forks to the ground, and resume operation after resecuring the goods. Continuing to drive is strictly prohibited.II. Excessive Slope (>5%) or Unprocessed Non-slip Ramps
Ramp Driving Specifications
- Strictly follow the principle of "ascend the slope forward and descend the slope backward". The forks shall always face the top of the slope to utilize the weight of goods for auxiliary balance.
- Maintain low speed (≤3km/h) throughout the process and drive at idle speed to avoid frequent gear shifting. Strictly prohibit steering, parking, or adjusting goods on the ramp.
Load Restrictions
- When operating on ramps, reduce the load to 50%-70% of the rated value. It is forbidden to ascend or descend the slope with heavy loads to prevent overload failure of the braking system.
- Forklifts without a Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) system should avoid operating on slopes that exceed the standard. If necessary, use traction equipment for assistance.
Anti-slip Measures
Check the tire tread depth in advance and replace with anti-slip solid tires if they are severely worn. Install anti-slip chains for icy and snowy ramps.III. Ground with Oil Stains / Standing Water / Ice and Snow (Low Friction Coefficient)
Braking and Steering Taboos
- Forbid emergency braking and sharp steering. Adopt "predictive braking" — decelerate in advance, step on the brake gently, and reserve a braking distance more than three times the usual.
- Increase the turning radius when steering and adjust the direction slightly to avoid wheel skidding and tail swing.
Driving Strategies
- Control the speed at 1-2km/h and maintain a safe distance (≥2m) from shelves, equipment, and pedestrians.
- Avoid areas with severe oil stains or standing water. If detouring is not possible, pass straight at a uniform speed and do not stop in slippery areas.
Equipment Inspection
Test the sensitivity of the braking system before operation. If the braking distance is too long, stop the machine immediately and resume operation only after the ground is dry or the oil stains are cleaned.IV. Insufficient Ground Strength (Cracks, Settlement, Inadequate Concrete Grade)
Operation Prohibited Area Division
- Strictly prohibit operation in cracked or settled areas. Set up warning signs to clearly prohibit forklifts from entering.
- For heavy-load operations, prioritize hardened areas that meet the standard (C30 or above). Avoid staying in the same position for a long time to prevent ground collapse.
Load and Operation Restrictions
- Only allow passing through areas with suspected insufficient strength under no-load or light-load conditions (≤50% of the rated load), and pass quickly without stopping.
- Prohibit operations that require frequent starting and stopping, such as stacking and picking goods, in such areas.
Emergency Handling
If signs of ground collapse are found, evacuate immediately by reversing under no-load conditions. Do not stay or attempt to drive out. After evacuation, set up a warning zone and contact site maintenance personnel for handling.General Precautions
- Personnel Protection: Fasten the seat belt and wear a safety helmet during operation to avoid injury caused by falling goods or forklift tipping.
- Environment Observation: Inspect the site before operation and mark areas with poor ground conditions. During operation, always observe changes in the ground and the dynamics of surrounding personnel.
- Equipment Status: Check the tire pressure, braking system, and steering system before operation to ensure they are free of faults. Stability devices (tilt alarm, load display) shall be in normal working condition.
